Marketing and Communications Specialist

Full-Time Remote Position | Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 + Benefits

Role Overview

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will be essential to executing SIMA’s core communication and digital strategies. This role is responsible for the hands-on implementation of mass email communications, digital marketing, website management, and advertising placement, all while ensuring optimal SEO and reporting on key performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

Email & Digital Communications Implementation

  • Implement all core SIMA mass email communications, including member, prospect, sponsored, newsletter, and symposium stakeholder emails.
  • Execute placement of all digital ads sold across all SIMA websites and platforms.

 Website & Content Management

  • Serve as the staff lead on all website updates, new webpage creation, blog article posting, and general content updates using a drag-and-drop website platform.
  • Lead the implementation of digital/social media strategy across key digital spaces and social media platforms, including daily maintenance.
  • Ideate and create new blog posts based on monthly keyword research.

Analytics & Optimization

  • Evaluate and consistently improve SEO optimization for core SIMA websites.
  • Consistently monitor and report data, KPIs, and key metrics related to marketing, web, email, and digital performance.

Campaign & Team Collaboration

  • Participate actively in the Marketing and Communications functional team.
  • Aid in the planning and coordination of key marketing campaigns, including the annual symposium, SIMA events, member recruitment, and educational programs.
  • Serve as the staff lead on the marketing production calendar.

Core Skills & Qualifications

  • Project Management experience with a strong ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Ads Manager, and Business Manager (or similar advertising platforms).
  • Experience with HubSpot or other CMS tools.
  • Demonstrated experience with Email Marketing Platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of marketing campaign management and execution.
  • Proven ability in social media/digital marketing management.
  • Experience with Drag and Drop website platforms (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, etc.).
  • Beginner Data Mining or List Development skills.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe products for content creation.

 

Member Services Manager

Full-Time Remote Position | Salary Range: $70-90K plus opportunities for commission

Role Overview

 SIMA is seeking a self-driven professional with strong experience in customer service, account management, and consultative sales. Key responsibilities include relationship-building with members and stakeholders, managing virtual communities, facilitating small groups, and representing the association at various meetings and conferences. This position will be responsible for partnering with the SIMA team to develop and execute a comprehensive member engagement approach that supports the association’s mission and enables members to experience the full value of membership. This colleague will be responsible for planning and implementing approaches to strengthen and monitor member engagement, build a strong sense of community among SIMA members, and develop methods to engage potential members on a path to membership.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manages the member relationship process and actions for new member onboarding, ongoing membership relationships, and coordinating member retention efforts to aid in improving retention outcomes.
  2. Develops, prepares, and analyzes reports that provide statistical information on membership and progress in meeting goals for recruitment, retention, and engagement.
  3. Work with a dynamic membership and marketing team to innovate new methods and activities to engage members and potential members based on feedback from stakeholders.
  4. Ability to facilitate in person and virtual small group meetings (training will be offered in this area to supplement similar professional experience).
  5. Initiates and responds to phone calls, emails, and social media inquiries as needed to create a high quality customer service experience.
  6. Cultivate relationships to generate new member opportunities and business development, particularly with manufacturers and suppliers to the regular membership. Comfortable with tech tools utilizing lead generation.
  7. Knowledge and experience in sponsorship sales, including developing creative methods to create partnerships between suppliers and buyers.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years in account management, customer service or similar
  • Creativity and high level of ideation to help members achieve their membership return on investment.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, account management, or sales. Ability to build rapport and establish lasting professional relationships.
  • Proven experience in working with a team to accomplish objectives.
  • Tech-savvy and adept at learning new software systems, applications, tools, and identifying social media trends.
  • Strong project management skills and experience.

Desired Skills

  • Exceptional computer and technology skills: Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), Google Applications (gsheet, gdoc, gmail) , and virtual communication tools.
  • Background utilizing CRM tools and ability to interpret data to develop operational plans.

Travel Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 6-10 times per year for industry events, trade shows, and member visits.
