Are you a SIMA member that is committed to learn how to become more successful and profitable?
Join a SIMA Peer Group to bring your experience and gain insight from others.

SIMA Peer Groups

SIMA invites your company to be a part of a SIMA Peer Group.

Each group is comprised of SIMA members who are committed to learning from each other about how to become more successful and profitable in their snow businesses. Groups are professionally facilitated and sponsored by a snow industry supplier, bringing valuable experience and insight to the group.

Discussion topics may include equipment selection and usage, business models, operations, snow industry best practices, labor trends, staffing/recruiting, competition, market dynamics, economic trends, technologies and more. Where one company may struggle, another may thrive. Members walk away from these meetings with action items to help resolve issues affecting their businesses and are able to report progress of change in future meetings.

Group members interact through the group’s private Facebook page and other social media, emails, and ad-hoc phone calls or one-on-one visits throughout the year. Read below for more information.

Online & Traditional Formats Available

Two different formats are available to allow your company to select which is a better fit.

Online

  • Online peer groups meet once per month via the web for 1.5 hours, with no travel costs or time away.

  • Your investment of $100 per month makes this peer group format highly affordable for many members.

  • Includes facilitation and administration of program.

Traditional

Typically meet in person twice per year, supplemented by web-based meetings. While each group is unique and will determine the number of meetings, format, location, and timing, we have developed a recommended program as a starting point, along with an associated level of investment:

  • Two (2) in-person meetings per year. The typical format for these meetings is to have dinner the first day, a full day of meetings and dinner the second day, and a morning meeting the third day. Meetings may be held at a member’s location or at one of the sponsor’s location.

  • Four (4), 1.5 hour virtual meetings per year (one per quarter) via phone conference, GoToMeeting, Google Hangout, etc.

  • A monthly investment of $207.92 ($2,495 per year) makes this option affordable for many members. Includes facilitation, administration of program, and all meals at in-person meetings. Travel and lodging is not included.

  • If group decides to add an additional face-to-face facilitated meeting, additional costs may apply.

Meet Your Facilitator: Dave Molenda

D.Molenda

After almost 30 years of starting his own business and growing it to $10 million in annual sales before selling it, Dave realized his passion was helping companies thrive by overcoming their natural tendencies to retreat, not talk about the hard stuff and spin their wheels on the wrong things. His company, Positive Polarity, acts as the opposing force against the easy way of doing business - the way it’s always been done - with a positive and encouraging approach.
