Thank you for speaking at the 2020 Snow & Ice Symposium!

PRESENTATION GUIDELINES AND UPLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

We ask that all presenters share their slide presentations so that we can offer them as an attendee resource. We also ask that each presenter provide a tangible takeaway in terms of a checklist or other resource for attendees to utilize post-show. While not required, it is an outstanding value-added benefit for those who’ve made the commitment to attend your session.

Presentations are due Friday, May 29. Should you update your slides after that date, please upload the new version and email ellen@sima.org.

 

  • We have created a cover slide template for you to use to ensure all presentations are unified under the conference theme. Choose your template here.

  • Save final version using the following naming convention: SIMA_Last Name_Session Day.
  • To support greener, more sustainable conference practices we will not provide hard copies of presentation materials; all materials will be available via the conference mobile app and in the Attendee Resource Center before, during and after the conference.

AUDIO VISUAL

All room sets include the following:

  • Lavaliere microphones for each presenter; panels will share handheld microphones

  • Podium, head table, and theater/classroom style seating (breakouts) or banquet-style rounds (workshops)

  • Projector and 8’ tripod screen

  • Wireless remote and mouse for slides

  • Audio port for laptop 

  • Flipchart & markers

In your speaker agreement, you had the opportunity to select additional AV needs. Please review that section of your agreement.  If you requested additional needs, we have your information on file and will confirm with you. Any additional AV Requests must be emailed to heather@sima.org by May 29.

All speakers must provide their own laptop if needed for your presentation. Meeting rooms are set up with basic Wi-Fi internet. We ask that you download your presentation to your desktop or on a jump drive before the start of your presentation so you don’t need to rely on the internet for access.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE

All Symposium sessions will take place at the Hartford Convention Center. Your room assignments will be sent to you closer to the event.

All speakers are required to wear a badge during Symposium hours. Badge printing and pickup will be at the Hartford Convention Center. Follow signage from the hotel lobby to the registration area.

  • Tuesday, August 25: Noon to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 26: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Thursday, August 27: 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Friday, August 28: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Hotel. Your hotel room has been reserved pursuant to your speakers agreement. You are responsible for tax and incidentals and any room charges outside of your negotiated complimentary room nights. If you need to change your hotel needs, please do so as soon as possible via this form.

MARKETING YOUR PRESENTATION

Our marketing team will create “See me at the SIMA Show” images for you to use on Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and/or your website to promote your appearance at the show. You've worked hard to create a compelling presentation, so your help in encouraging attendance is much appreciated. Make sure to hyperlink images to our show website: www.sima.org/show.
