Head over to the Harley Davidson Museum's Chrome room for breakfast and if you didn't already, pick up your badge. Currently attendees will walk .4 miles from the Iron Horse Hotel to the Harley Davidson Museum. If you are driving to Harley there is parking based on availability. 

Mission Critical: Flawless Execution Keynote & Rapid Planning Workshop with Chris "Elroy" Stricklin

Season Opener and Leadership Academy attendees will kick off the day together in a high-flying keynote and workshop presented by Afterburner. Using their elite military training expertise, our instructor will use Afterburner’s Flawless Execution SM framework to teach participants a shared planning and execution model that’s proven to break down the barriers that diverse teams face and accelerate results. Each element of Flawless Execution plays a critical role in helping you achieve performance excellence at the individual, team and organizational level. 

During the workshop, attendees will work together to put the Flawless Execution framework into action with a hands-on workshop tackling a key issue in their snow and ice management company. Learn more about this exciting workshop at www.afterburner.com.

You will receive a free ticket to the museum with your registration. Why not use it while you're in town?

OPTIONAL: Bike Night
5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

At Harley, Thursday’s from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM during the Summer is Bike Night. Bike Nights are really exciting and include live music, concessions, free raffles, a cigar roller and are typically themed.

In today’s fast-paced and competitive workplace, to move beyond survival and mediocrity we must become highly effective leaders. At times, the pressures of leadership can be overwhelming and have us wondering if we have what it takes. The great news is that effective leadership can be developed! In this session, CEOs and top managers will join leadership development and team building expert Tim Arnold in The Leaders Edge experiential workshop that will equip participants with the skills and confidence needed to take their leadership to the next level. Relevant business theory will be brought to life through interactive activities and discussions, so that participants can develop strategies that will help them to move forward with all the leadership challenges that they face. The workshop will conclude with participants using the concepts to develop a personal action plan.

Snow Operations Field Leadership with Phill Sexton, CSP, ASM

Field operations personnel who love snow and ice and seek to build a career in our industry will spend the afternoon session engaged in hands-on key leadership and management education with WIT Advisers’ Phill Sexton, CSP. Attendees will learn the importance of bringing professionalism, commitment, and a positive attitude to the tasks at hand; how to develop crew leadership and decision-making skills; the intricacies involved with overseeing large sites and routes; and how to put all those skills together to position yourself as a successful field leader for your company.
*Participants in SIMA’s Snow Operations Leadership Academy will complete this session as part of their required curriculum. Any field operations attendees not enrolled in the Academy will attend The Leaders Edge workshop.

Leadership Academy

SIMA’s Snow Operations Leadership Academy combines 11+ hours of online education and in-person training and peer networking to help snow and ice management operations team members, account managers and field leaders gain new skills in interpersonal communications, project management and execution, leadership, and account management. Participants must complete all components to earn the SIMA Snow Operations Leadership Academy diploma. Graduates will be honored at the 2019 SIMA Symposium in Grand Rapids, MI.

The Leadership Academy is limited to 40 participants.
