Glossary of Terms Recommendation for Edits, Deletions or Additions
As a non-profit trade association, we value creating standards that are easily accessed, adopted and shared, and managed and improved over time. With this in mind, any industry participant or associated stakeholder can recommend edits, deletions or additions to the Glossary of Terms. Please use the form below to share your recommendation. Edit, Deletion or Addition Recommendation Information
Recommendation and decision process: SIMA will conduct quarterly reviews of the Snow & Ice Management Standard Glossary of Terms. Recommendation submissions will also be considered during this time. The review will be documented, and a timeline established for any action items, updates, or changes that are recommended during that review. Individuals submitting recommendations will be notified of a decision within 30 days after each review period. Review dates for 2015-16 include:
- November 21, 2016
- February 20, 2017
- May 15, 2017
- August 21, 2017
Results of the quarterly reviews can be viewed here. SIMA is under no obligation to edit, delete, or add a term based off of recommendations.
Appealing a decision: An appeal is a formal request for reconsideration of an adverse decision made by SIMA or its representatives related to an edit, deletion or addition to the Glossary of Terms. Information on how to complete the appeals process will be sent out with the initial decision. Appeals decisions are final.
