Information on the CSP exam process
Applicants will take the CSP exam at testing centers across the US and Canada. Once the application information (see Eligibility & Application Information
) has been processed and approved, applicants will sign up for an exam on a date at a testing center of their choice.
Once your application is approved and all application materials submitted, you will receive an email with a username and password (please keep this email, as you will need the username and password to unlock the exam at the testing center), with instructions on how to sign up for an exam. After you sign up for an exam, you will receive an email confirming the time and date of your exam.
- Click here for testing centers in the US (Please note: new testing centers are constantly being added and can be sourced on an on-demand basis. When you call to book your exam, the testing company will work with you to find the testing center closest to you).
- Click here for testing centers in Canada.
On the day of your exam, please arrive at the testing center with photo I.D. and your testing username and password. You may also bring paper/pencils if you think you will need them. A calculator is provided in the exam system for you. Exams are proctored by testing center staff.
Please note, exam appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the appointment, at which point the appointment is locked in and unable to be changed.
The CSP Exam covers the following content areas:
- Human Resources
- Snow & Ice Science
- Snow & Ice Operations and Techniques
The exam is available in both U.S. and Canadian versions, to reflect the differences in U.S. and Canadian laws and business practices.
You will have 3 hours to complete the 200 question exam. Questions are a mix of Multiple Choice and True/False.
A score of 70% or greater is needed to pass the exam.
