About ASM

To become an ASM, each individual who complete all four program certificates receive the Advanced Snow Manager (ASM) designation, an official credential from SIMA. Once ASM status has been achieved there are no mandated ongoing training requirements, and individuals can use the Advanced Snow Manager logo to represent their credential publicly.

The Core Principles course is a pre-requisite for all other courses in the program. Individuals can complete training in any combination they choose immediately after passing Core Principles. Each course is complete when the individual scores a passing grade in the course assessment. Once a course is completed, SIMA will create and mail an official certificate of completion to the individual within 4-6 weeks.

ANSI SIMA

SIMA has now joined the ranks of less than 50 organizations nationally who have achieved ANSI accreditation for issuing certificates, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the International Facility Management Association (IFMA), and the Institute of Food Safety, Health, & Hygiene. Learn more from ANSI. The ASM designation is not affiliated with ANSI accreditation. SIMA issues certificates for the following certificate courses:

  • Advanced Snow Management - Core Principles
  • Advanced Snow Management - Ice Management
  • Advanced Snow Management - Plowing Operations
  • Advanced Snow Management - Sidewalk Operations
