AWARD DESCRIPTIONS
Excellence in Business
Description: This award will be judged on the basis of demonstrated success in the following competencies - business practices, customer satisfaction, community relations, and accountability.
Deadline: April 15, 2012
Quantity: Up to 4 awards per year, depending on membership category
To apply: Applications will be available February 1, 2013
Employee of the Year
Description: This award will be presented to only ONE hard-working individual this year. This award will help recognize the employee who displays excellence at work, provide leadership, or stands as an example for the industry.
Deadline: April 15, 2012
Quantity: 1 award/year
To apply: Applications will be available February 1, 2013
Safety Awards
Description: This award will be given to the company who is able to present exceptional safety procedures and execution throughout the year.
Deadline: May 1, 2012
Quantity: Not restricted
To apply: Applications will be available February 1, 2013
Snow Industry Commitment Award
Description: This new award will be offered to a SIMA Associate Member who shows great commitment to both SIMA and the snow & ice industry.
Deadline: April 15, 2012
Quantity: 1 award/year
To apply: Applications will be available February 1, 2013
Alan Steiman Symposium Scholarship
Description: In recognition of longtime SIMA member, mentor, and friend, SIMA has created the Alan Steiman Symposium Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded each year to one member who has never attended a Symposium and who completes and submits this application.
Deadline: April 15, 2012
Quantity: 1 award/year
To apply: Applications will be available February 1, 2013
SUBMISSION DETAILS & DEADLINES
- All awards will be presented at the Awards & Recognition Night - Thursday, June 21st, 2012 - during the 15th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Buffalo, NY.
- Each award application/nomination requires a $25 processing fee (NOTE: Alan Steiman Scholarship does not apply). This fee, and the completed application/nomination forms, must be received by SIMA no later than the specified deadline.
- Award winners will be kept confidential until the announcement is made at the Awards & Recognition Night.
